Grok Bot: What I’ve Been Using It For

By Tushar Gaurav

I spent two weeks experimenting with Grok Bot and ended up building AI agents. Here’s how I’m using Grok Bot and what makes it different from other AI agents.

When Grok Bot launched, I didn’t pay much attention to it.

My reaction was basically: “Cool, another AI agent.”

I assumed it was just another agent from another AI company. By then, I had already seen enough agent launches like OpenClaw, Hermes, and a bunch of others. It was getting harder to tell what was actually different.

Then I started using Grok Bot.

After about two weeks of actually using it, I’ve come to think it fills a rather interesting gap in the current agent workflow. The thing that makes it different isn’t necessarily that it can do something no other agent can do. It’s that you can turn it into a persistent, task-specific worker with its own computer, accounts, instructions, and schedule.

I now have a handful of these bots running different parts of my life and work, from finding opportunities and sending cold emails to keeping track of the YouTube videos I watch.

Here are the ones that I am using.

Outbound Sales Bot

I use this bot to send cold emails to leads that the bot finds itself. I have told the bot about my product and its ideal customers, it then uses it to find leads via browsing the web on its computer and then sends a cold email to each lead, i have tuned the language of the emails to sound similar to how i would send.

It also looks for any replies that I get on the emails sent and then drafts a reply for me. I can then choose whether to send it or not.

YouTube Digest Bot

This is one of my favourite bots. I watch a lot of YouTube, I mean a lot!

and most of the videos I watch are tech videos. It gets hard to keep a track of what I watched and I generally forget the core idea of the video. This bot tries to solve this. It has access to my YouTube and every night at 9PM it goes over the watch history and then sends each video to Gemini to get the context and general idea of what the video is about. It then compiles a list of everything I watched that day with the summary of each video and the key points along with further reading links for the videos.

I find this incredibly useful as I can just go over this in the night to revise what I consumed during the day.

Amazon Bot

I order a lot from Amazon both for personal and work purposes and I really hate it when I have to keep checking Amazon for a product and when it will be delivered. This bot tries to fix exactly that. This bot can compare products and order them for you, it can also check your orders on Amazon and write reviews for the products.

I just tell the bot that I need this product and it finds it and then orders it for me.

LinkedIn Bot

This bot has access to my LinkedIn account and I have given it my resume and a general idea of what I do, it then reaches out to founders and other people and sends them DM asking for opportunities and work. It works surprisingly well, I have instructed the agent to send DMs in batches, each batch is triggered 3 hours apart daily.

Twitter Bot

Alright this is a fun one!

This bot basically has access to a fresh Twitter account and I have described a general personality for the user and given it full permission to post, comment, like and message people. It can also browse the web for latest news and stuff.

I have also instructed it to form opinions on its own as it browse the web.

This is more sort of a personal experiment for me to see what it does.

If you are like me, you’ve probably searched online to see what other people are using Grok Bot for, only to be bummed to find that there aren’t that many people posting about it yet.

The best place to start would be to follow the official Grok Bot Twitter account.

Apart from that, there are a few websites that have started building directories of Grok Bot templates.

Most of them haven’t been particularly useful for me, but they’re still worth taking a look at.

I’ll probably keep experimenting with it and add more bots as I find useful things for them to do.

If you end up building something interesting with Grok Bot, I’d love to see it.
