About

Hi, I'm Tushar Gaurav.

I'm a software developer who believes the internet should be open, secure, and accessible to everyone. By day, I build AI-powered robotics platforms at Orangewood Labs. By night, I'm tinkering in my homelab, contributing to open source, and learning something new.

History

I grew up in Moonidih, Dhanbad, where my curiosity for how things work started early. After graduating from NIET Greater Noida, I've spent the last two years at Orangewood Labs, where I work on web, infra and AI—basically making robots understand what you're saying to them.

But here's the thing: I'm not just passionate about building software. I'm passionate about building secure, open-source software that people can trust and learn from. Too much of the technology we rely on is a black box, and I think we can do better.

What I'm Building Toward

Open Internet, Open Knowledge

I have two big missions driving my work:

Making the internet truly open for people in India

Creating high-quality, open-source learning materials that anyone can access

Right now, I'm focused on creating standards and platforms that help developers build secure open-source software. Because the future is open source—it just needs to be safer.

Things I'm Working On (The Human Stuff)

I'm an introvert who gets stressed in crowds and fumbles when public speaking. My voice literally breaks when I'm nervous. I'm working on it.

I struggle with consistency and motivation for new projects. I'm working on that too.

And like a lot of people in tech, I'm trying to figure out the whole work-life balance thing—how to build a life I don't need to escape from, rather than just counting down to the next vacation.

The gym and I have a complicated relationship, but I've learned that when I'm feeling low, 95% of the time it's because I haven't moved my body in days. So I'm learning to just... move.

Ideas Worth Sharing

Government software should be open source. Full stop.

Tax spending should be transparent (blockchain transparent).

Universal healthcare isn't radical; it's necessary.

Self-reliance is underrated, but so is knowing when to ask for help.

Every person you meet knows something you don't. Stay curious.

The Other Stuff

You'll find me rewatching The Office for the hundredth time, experimenting with new homelab setups, or reading books about psychology and business (currently obsessed with The Psychology of Money).

I'm also that friend everyone calls for tech support. Yes, I've tried turning it off and on again.

Hobbies

3D Printing

I like 3D printing because it combines creativity with practical problem-solving. It allows me to turn digital designs into real, functional objects, which is incredibly rewarding. It also keeps me learning — from improving prints through iteration to understanding materials and design constraints.
